A Small Adventure
One of the oldest and most well preserved temples in the Angkor complex. It was made as a shrine to Shiva. The multi-headed snake is a Naga which represents the primal forces of nature protecting the site. The god on the elephant is Indra. Shiva is not represented as a human figure: a form called a lingam is used instead, which looks like a pillar coming from the top of a pitcher, and represents sexuality/fertility.
The Golden Buddha in Wat Traimit is made of solid gold and weighs 5.5 tons. It is made of solid gold and weighs 5.5 tons. It was found covered in plaster outside of Bangkok and moved to the city. At one point it was dropped, the plaster cracked and the gold was discovered.
